\u201cHe joyously shouts, \u2018It is finished!\u2019 [John 19:30]. Yes, those seem to be sorrowful words, but
\nthey were words of joy to that soul aflame and consumed in the fire of divine charity, the soul of
\nthe incarnate Word, God\u2019s Son. It is as if the gentle Jesus wanted to say, \u2018I have completely
\nfulfilled what was written of me. Fulfilled too is my painful desire to redeem the human race. I
\nam happy, exultant, that I have finished this suffering.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
